When so much is going on in your life the tendency can be to feel scattered and unfocused. You may feel you’re always running to catch up with life’s happenings.
I’m going to share with you a very simple way for you to take charge and feel more in control.
Once you get the hang of this exercise it will become automatic and natural for you to do. You won’t need to actually do the exercise I outline for you here. But, rather it will become second nature for you and you will do it automatically. At least, it happened that way for me. I know my priorities and stay laser focused on them.
You’ll be able to get much more done than you probably do right now and feel much more productive which, in itself, is a comfort. I’m often astounded by how much I accomplish in a day.
Not always, but most of the time, I feel in sync with life’s unfoldment. I feel I’m riding the waves of my life, instead of feeling like I’m being pounded by what’s happening. And, believe me, my life has been VERY extreme and intense at times. Still, with this simple practice, I stay on top of things and remain centered and balanced, most of the time.
When I first started doing this practice it was in itself a little nerve wracking to sort through all the to dos I felt obligated to perform. But, overtime there was a simple magic that happened. I discovered a lot of my to dos were not important at all to my life’s happiness. Overtime, I let go of things that I had once thought obligatory.
This simple practice helped me stay sane when going through tumultuous events, along with the company of my steadfast friends essential oils.

How to Stay Sane in an Insane World - Step 2
Focus on Your Top Values and Priorities Exercise
Dispense 1-3 drops of Red Mandarin pure essential on a cotton ball, or smell strip and inhale their vapors slowly introducing them into your system. You might also put on some relaxing music and recline in a comfortable chair in loose comfortable clothing that allows you to let go and relax quietly. After 1-5 minutes of inhaling the essential oil vapors, your feeling of overwhelm should have dissipated. You may continue breathing in the vapors of your Red Mandarin oil throughout this exercise.
In a relaxed and care free manner take a clean sheet of paper and write a list of your top values and priorities to accomplish for the day. Don't think just write. Take no more than 1-5 minutes tops to write your list.
Now review your list and spontaneously mark off half of what you have written down.
Now, beside each of your priorities, write down how this item on your list makes you feel and how you will feel once accomplished.
Once again spontaneously mark off half of your list. Let go of anything you do not want to do.
Now prioritize your list in the order of what's of most value to you. Do the two top priorities on your list and let the rest go, just for today.
After completing your top two priorities on your list allow yourself to enjoy the satisfaction of having completed your tasks. Repeat this exercise anytime you feel overwhelmed with too many things to achieve.
This exercise will help you learn how to set priorities for accomplishing what you value most and will give you a sense of fulfillment. You'll also learn how to let go of what's unimportant to you that gives you no real pleasure.
We always do what we value! If you’re struggling to force yourself to do something that you feel is a ‘should’ for you then you may want to look at how you’re sabotaging your own happiness by taking on tasks that you really don’t want to do.
Your affirmation: "My purpose is to enjoy life.”
