Our Spikenard supplier has just informed us that he will be unable to supply us with Spikenard oil for the foreseeable future. In efforts to help support the Nardostachys jatamansi species recovery, the government of Nepal is requiring documentation and CITES certification, to allow export, but the process is taking time. Thus, we have a very limited supply of a 10% dilution of Spikenard available at this time. No bulk orders, and only one bottle per customer. My apologies for any inconvenience.
A deep rich, full-bodied spicy aroma that’s sweet and woody, Spikenard Oil from Nepal is also known as "False" Indian Valerian Root.
Spikenard, also called nard, nardin and muskroot, grows wild in the mountains of India and Nepal. Its scent is long lasting and gives depth to any blend. Its initial Valerian-like scent mellows as it drys down.
This is a lovely distillation of Spikenard. Artistic distillations of Nardostachys Jatamansi seem to be a rare find.
Many aromatherapists have never experienced the treat of how this oil smells when it's been artfully distilled. A poor quality distillation of Nard is rather smoky and bitter smelling.
A valued oil since ancient times, Spikenard has often been used in anointing and healing rituals and religious ceremonies.
Spikenard was the aromatic oil in the foot balm that Mary Magdalene used to anoint her master Jesus' feet in the New Testament of the Bible.
Spikenard is an ideal meditation oil and has traditionally been used in many incense formulas and for spiritual enhancement. It is considered a spiritual aid for contemplation and clarity of mind.
A relative of the Valerian family, Spikenard oil's high sesquiterpene and sesquiterpenol chemical content makes it one of the most powerful soothing and calming oils in aromatherapy. It is often recommended for easing anxiety and stress.

Psycho-emotionally, Spikenard promotes emotional balance. It may be useful for releasing old fears and anxiety stemming from past trauma.
Spikenard oil nourishing action helps to balance the skin’s natural sebum production. It is good for ALL skin types.
Its skin nourishing properties support the formation of healthy skin cell tissue. Spikenard oil can help support a clear, smooth complexion and youthful appearance.
