I recommend you perform your New Year 2021 Meditation anytime between now and the Libra quarter Moon on January 5th. Just at dusk, at the time of a setting sun is perfect, wherever you are in the world.
The purpose of this New Year Meditation is to let go of the past. Whatever has transpired in your life to date, let it go. This breaking with your past and letting it all go, will allow you to open up to the new possibilities sure to come your way in the 2021 New Year.
Yesterday’s watery Cancer Full Moon may have brought sensitive and unexpressed feelings to the surface for release. You have an opportunity now to let yourself express tender feelings that may have lain buried beneath year’s of struggle to suppress your true feelings. If you’ve been clinging to defensive coping strategies in the form of addictions now is the time to unburden yourself. Addictions can come in many guises. Addictions represent habits of a lifetime intended to keep you safe, but only limit you and prevent you from realizing your Divine potential.
Let yourself express your feelings now. If you’ve been holding back anything from yourself, or from others (especially your closest loved ones) now you have a chance to express it fully and let it all go once and for all.
Allow yourself to start the 2021 New Year with a clean fresh slate.
About the Cancer Full Moon
We started the 2020 New Year with a Rare Cancer Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on January 20th that illuminated the great turning of the ages that is underway for 72 - 144 years. From 1962-2034 is the most critical peak of the new cycle being birthed. The outer span of time extends from 1926-2070.
It is only fitting that we should now end this extraordinary 2020 year with another Cancer Full Moon.
The Cancer Lunar Eclipse at the start of this 2020 year occurred at the same time as a VERY rare astrological occurrence when 3 outer planets (Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter) all transiting the sign of Capricorn Conjunct. It had been 733 years since the Conjunction of these three planets - that expand, transform and restructure our personal lives and society-at-large - had occurred.
Mercury joined these three planets during that Cancer Lunar Eclipse and Mars crossed over these exact same points in March further activating and accelerating the changes destined to occur this year.
Yesterday’s Cancer Full Moon occurred during the same window of time of the Great Conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter at 0° Aquarius that occurred exact on December 21st (Solstice Day). The 0° Aquarius signifies a completely new beginning and omens revolutionary social change, humanitarian efforts, and justice for all.
The Book End of Cancer Full Moons occurring at the start and end of 2020 further illumines and completes what has transpired this year. It is done!
Saturn and Jupiter are the Builders of society and bring social change and the building of a completely new era. Signaling the dawning of a new age. The last time the Great Conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter was most easily visible was when the pair of luminaries were conjunct in Aquarius in 1226.
Just as with the Cancer Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at the start of 2020, the celestial vibes leading up to yesterday’s Cancer Full Moon contains a lot of magic and feeling of destiny about it.
Meaning: There’s a potent illumination when something quite extraordinary may be on offer for you to celebrate. Perhaps a tremendous feeling of relief can be felt now, something has found completion. It feels like whatever happens now has been a long time coming. It’s a VERY pregnant Cancer Full Moon, ready to POP!
What you will need:
- Clean sheet of paper
- A white candle
Essential Oils (Optional)
Essential Oils to Use for Your New Year Meditation:
I recommend the ancient holy oils that have been used through the ages to promote and bring healing. Use oils that open your heart and mind to see new possibilities for yourself and our world.
Galbanum, Helichrysum, Patchouli, Rosemary, Sweet Orange, Cinnamon Leaf and Frankincense are all perfect to use for this New Year Meditation ritual.
Use one, or more of these oils or blend of oils to scent your meditation space prior to your meditation.
Light your white candle and focus on the flame. Remember that the light you see is a reflection of the light within you.
Write it all out and let it go
Write your list of all the things you wish to let go of on paper. Allow yourself to write down everything that does not work for you, as well as any feelings you have about anything that does not work for you, let it all flow onto the paper. Let it flow, let it go!
After you have taken time writing your list of what you desire to release completely, fold your paper, and say aloud:
God/Goddess and all that is,
Angels, guides, ancestors, teachers, and friends,
I call upon all who love me to witness
My deep appreciation for my soul’s journey,
Bless my unfolding as I give thanks
For my many blessings and accomplishments.
May my true heart’s desires always be manifest,
And so it is.
As you end your meditation, surrender the struggles, and burdens you’ve written down on the piece of paper into the flames of a living fire. Jungian analyst, Marion Woodman PhD, uses a Chinese Wok for her ritual burnings. You can also use an outdoor fire pit, wood stove or log burning fireplace. Make sure you're in a well ventilated area. Be sure to practice fire safety!
You are burning your old paradigm of beliefs, limitations and structures that no longer work for you to make room for new structures and foundations that support you completely in the fulfillment of your life purpose in the outer world and the fulfillment of your Divine potential.
After completing your New Year Meditation you may feel inspired to take some action, or just to be still and peaceful for a while longer. Listen to your wise heart and act accordingly.
Keep your candle flame burning for as long as feels right for you.
Wishing you a wonderful 2021 New Year Celebration!
